First and foremost, where is the money in that? WG is a company after all, and money spent to convert XP is a great source of income if my spending is at all representative of the player base. I think that basically the reason it doesn't go into free XP from the ship can be divided into two reasons. As I recall, there was a post on this a while back. SO beyond leveling up captains it is primarily worthless right. I have quite a few premium ships, what good is the XP they earn? its like a ship that you level up for the next tier, their XP does nothing except accumulate after that unless you want to convert it to free XP but you have no DB or want to buy any.
